GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- New details are emerging about the incident that led up to the resignation of the general manager of the Avalon Theatre and the Two Rivers Convention Center.

Officials with the city of Grand Junction say Theron Lafountain resigned earlier this week, citing personal reasons.

According to a Grand Junction Police report, Lafountain was taken into custody early Monday morning after police received a call that he was walking around nude inside the Greyhound bus station on Fifth Street and Ute Avenue.

Greyhound customers told police that Lafountain had passed out on a bench in the lobby and then headed to the restrooms, only to return back to the lobby without clothes on.

When police arrived, they found Lafountain sitting on the floor of the women's restroom, naked, with a pile of clothes next to him. According to police documents, Lafountain was incoherent and smelled of alcohol.

Lafountain was cited for indecent exposure and served with a summons, but he refused to sign it.

Officials say he was then transported for detox to Colorado West Mental Health, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.20.

According to a Grand Junction city spokesperson, Debbie Kovalik, director of the Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau, will step in as acting manager for the time being.

Welcome to the private sector. Where pay is half and benefits must be paid for. LOL!!!

Don't be so quick to judge.....think roofies and assault, the media most likely does not have the full story!

I like Susan's remark. No one knows the whole story and give the man a break. I've noticed over the years that most news reports are either completely wrong or slanted to make it sound the worst. He didn't hit an old lady over the head and steal her purse.

I think he was just giving his clothes to a homeless person which he should be congratulated for. Granted he was drunk but at least he was not behind the wheel driving like so many others. He may have been in the washroom to wash his hair ss well. So all you judgemental types just back off and give him a break. Since this is not normal behavior he must have other issues. Reach out to him and others who need so much help in our great country. Our country is hurting so bad.

The comment about the private sector and all makes no sense. More right wing propaganda that has nothing to do with this poor man. Have pity and compassion and stop being arrogant and judgemental. I will pray for you as your heart must be cold.

What, he was just hired!!! Didn't he have his college degree. That's all that's required by today's corporate mentality. No expierence, no qualifications, just the European view on education. Never matters what the degree is in, as long as the prospective employee has the paper. Guess that's why we have a homeless problem, and a police department that can't enforce traffic law. Remember. the PO neede a new building because it was too crowded. Guess if they ever went on patrol, it wouldn't have been so crowded.....,

Thank you Susan! NEVER is the whole story available. For you parents out there, think about the squabbles between your children. Usually both parties are to blame and the truth is somewhere in the middle. Theron has done incredible things for the city and Two Rivers in a very short amount of time. He was a breath of fresh air this close-minded community needs. I am exceedingly sorry to see him go, but understand he could never have braved it out when people like JD are out there jumping to conclusions. Thank you, Theron. Thank you!

Combine the Visitor & Convention job with this one. Save an employee. (Actually, someone should seriously be considering terminating this guy's supervisor. If he was running amok like this, the supervisor had to be deaf, dumb and blind to miss it. But this is government, no one is really pay attention to anything except their pay check and vacation plans.)

And why would you fire the employee's supervisor for acts committed on their own time? Neither he nor his supervisor were at work when he was arrested.

Maybe he thought he was at Quincy's and just made a mistake.
