MONTROSE, Colo.- The first annual Black Canyon Hunting and Outdoor Expo was held Saturday in Montrose.
Organizers say it was the first expo of its kind on the Western Slope, and brought in more than 5,000 people.
"I just think that we are meeting a need that hasn't been out there. The Western Slope is full of recreation, that's why we all live here. What we found, is there's just a ton of businesses that we didn't even know existed," said John Pope, one of the organizers of the expo.
The expo sold out to 70 vendors allowing various businesses to get exposure.
"It needs to be the fastest set up and the fastest camp-up of any camper possible in the world," said Ric Rodriguez, owner of Adrenalin Campers.
One of those businesses included Adrenalin Campers, which provides a toilet, kitchen, bed and water tank all in one camper.
"The reality is, if you could get into the most remote part of the country that you want to get to, there's only one thing you can get there with, and there's only one thing that will set up in 30 seconds, and that's an adrenaline camper," said Rodriguez.
The owner lives and builds the campers in Montrose. They sell the campers with everything included for a total of $18,000.
"Come and buy one," Rodriguez says.
The next Hunting and Outdoor Expo will be the first weekend of February in 2014 and they plan to make it a two-day event.
