Moms Urge Rep. Tipton to Protect Middle Class Families

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Friday Grand Valley mothers joined together to send a message to Rep. Scott Tipton, urging him to protect middle class families during the fiscal debate.

They delivered a book of stories about the financial burdens facing moms and dads. In it they provided a letter which requests Rep. Tipton to take action to pass the Middle Class Tax Cut Act by signing the discharge petition that would allow a vote on this bill in the House.

The letter also said, "We simply can no longer afford to extend tax cuts for the people who need them the least. Extending cuts for the wealthy will cost nearly $1 trillion over the next decade. Additionally, these cuts will do little to stimulate the economy. According to the Congressional Budget Office, extending the Middle Class Tax Cuts would boost GDP by 1.3% next year, while extending tax cuts on income over $250,000 will only boost GDP by an additional 0.1%. "

DeAnne Stanberry, with MomsRising, said, "The couple-thousand dollars means going out to dinner more often and buying a little bit more for Christmas and maybe going to Glenwood Springs once in a while. So, those kinds of things are important to my family, and I think here in Mesa County, there are a lot of families who can identify with that."

No one was at Scott Tipton's Grand Junction office for the moms to speak with, however, they left the book for Tipton to read.

I am truly disgusted by the IdiotsRising. These folks have no shame. They would gladly saddle their children and grandchildren with trillions of dollars of debt tomorrow to be able to have a faux tax cut today. It is called liberty, look into it.

Socialism is on it's way folks. When Obama said he was going to fundamentally change the country he meant it. And when socialism doesn't meet his needs, we will have communism. This is a very scary time in this country, and I'm afraid we have already gone to far.

With the massive success of taxpayers pleading with juggernaut government to slow down and voting no on a new library and 'public safety' building this is sure to end well. Every child is born with the albatross of nearly $300,000 in debt. When these children abandon their parents at the time they need them most, in old age, you will know the reason: parents sold them into debt slavery. Thanks Mom n' Dad! Ignorant. The script has been written. O is pushing is over, blaming the republicrats, then in his role as savior Barrick Christ will stand up for the middle class. Proclaiming it was all those dastardly repubicans and cut (not raise) middle class taxes. Never mind the hundreds of new stealth taxes levied via obamacare, ignorant folks like this will never bother to look.....

Are you kidding me? These women have no mention of spending cuts only demands to raise someone else's taxes but not their own. What a twisted sense of entitlement when they want to use the force of law to take their neighbors belongings. Neighbors who already pay the vast majority of all income taxes paid. What kind of people are they!?!?
