Remains of Missing Pagosa Springs Man Found

CORTEZ, Colo.- Authorities say human remains found near Bayfield in southwest Colorado are those of a Pagosa Springs man who was reported missing last month.

The Cortez Journal reports cattlemen found the remains of 59-year-old David Bruce Ritchie this week in a rugged area north of Highway 160 near the Archuleta-La Plata county line.

Sources close to the family say Ritchie wandered off the morning of Aug. 5 and had been taking a new medication to treat depression and insomnia.

Cortez authorities say it appears Ritchie died of exposure.
