COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs police recover missing 2-year-old Essence Lovato.

Lovato was missing for a day and a half. She was last seen with 28-year-old Tonia Shetina who had permission to take the girl to her grandfather's house.

Essence never showed up and police are calling the woman a person of interest in the girl's disappearance.

The alert asking for the public's help was issued Wednesday morning by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

According to the Denver Post, Colorado Springs police received a tip just after 3 p.m. that Tonia Shetina was at a particular home just south of Fountain.

At 3:30 p.m., authorities responded to the home and safely found Lovato.
