GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Mesa View Independent Senior Living Community in Grand Junction is helping bring joy to the Grand Valley this holiday season. They are a drop-off location for the Salvation Army's Operation Toy Drop and are also collecting food for the organization.

They will continue fundraising efforts through Dec. 11.

Officials at the living center say residents are excited to be one of the drop-off locations this year.

Jill Burke, community sales leader at the living center, said, "It's a great thing to help out the community and help out the kids and help out the families that really are in need and less fortunate than others. It's very difficult to appreciate, I think there's a lot more families than anybody really realizes that need help, especially this time of year."

Folks who drop off toys at Mesa View can enter for the chance to win a $100 gift card.

They are located at 601 Horizon Place.
