GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Mesa County officially swore in its new public trustee Thursday at the Mesa County Justice Center.

Mike Moran was sworn into the position Thursday by a Mesa County judge, and he was quick to get to work.

Within minutes of taking his oath, Moran swore in his chief deputy public trustee, Sharon Ener, and deputy public trustee, Shawna Palella.

NewsChannel 5 spoke with Moran, who said he is excited to get to work.

Moran will be responsible for putting together the annual budget, reporting quarterly to the Mesa County Commissioners, and posting foreclosures, which he says he will get to right away.

However, the first order of business will be to help get into their new office at 544 Rood Ave.
