GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A fun and educational experience for kids is kicking off at the Mesa Mall Thursday.

The mall is hosting 2013's Mesa County Safety Fair.

The two day event is aimed at second, third and fourth graders, and teaches them how to protect themselves at home, school and when they play.

Officials say home school and private school students, along with members of the general public, are also encouraged to attend.

The Mesa County Safety Fair takes place Thursday and Friday at the Mesa Mall, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

Attendance for the event is free.
