Update: Missing 12-Year-Old Boy Found Safe

by KREX News Room
by Christina Marrazza

MESA COUNTY, Colo.- A 12-year-old boy has been found following a frantic search by his family.

Joshua Terry, 12, went missing Thursday around 3:30 p.m. He was walking to a nearby park by himself via 32-1/8 Road.

Joshua's family was especially concerned because he is bipolar and was without his medication.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office was aware of the case and was actively working it.

However, sheriff's officials say an Amber Alert was never issued because the circumstances for issuing one are very strict.

The requirements for an Amber Alert are established nationwide.

For those of you that have signed up for reverse 911 notifications got a message that had details that were very different than the original news report. The text we got from MCSO was he was 4'4" and 85 Lbs. The news report said he was 5'3" and 175. Someone dropped the ball somewhere. As a news agency, you might want to look into that. As a side note, as a father myself I am filled with joy that he is back with his family. I could not imagine, nor do I even want to try to imagine the pain and anguish that would come from a situation like this.
