Mesa County Couple Arrested for Child Abuse

MESA COUNTY, Colo.- A Mesa County couple is arrested for child abuse.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office Jessie Martinez, 30, is charged with two counts of Felony Child Abuse (a class 3 felony) and Child Abuse (a class 2 misdemeanor).

The victim's mother, Ashleigh Wallace, 28, is charged with Felony Child Abuse (a class 3 felony) and False Reporting to Authorities (a class 3 misdemeanor).

Martinez was booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility for a parole violation unrelated to the child abuse investigation.

On Jan.13, deputies and investigators were summoned to St Mary's Hospital to investigate a suspected child abuse involving a 4-year-old boy.

The boy had a serious brain injury, a broken right arm, and bruising on several parts of his body.

He still remains in the hospital.

my case was found in 2006 unfortunately after 15 years of enduring the abuse a little 2 year sentance was handed down, i hope to god these two get more time than that, and that they arent protected while in the jail, let the inmates do whats needed with them!
