GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Grand Junction Economic Partnership and the Visitor and Convention Bureau have taken a big step towards increasing tourism in the Big Apple.

The two groups have teamed up to secure an electronic billboard near Times Square in New York City.

The billboard will showcase images and the activities that people do in Mesa County.

"It is really exciting and people can imagine that there are so many millions of people that visit New York City every year from all over the world, so that we've cast on this is much bigger than just people that live in New York City," said Debbie Kovalik of the Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau.

The advertisement will run until April 14 and it's estimated that more than 300,000 people will see it every day.

Rose Pugliese is from New York and she's your county commissar, so your hypocrisy is showing.

Hmm, NYC one of the cultural meccas of the world and all it has to offer. vs. The grand valley and it's fast food franchises, and lack of diversity. I'm sure that when all the leftists from the east coast arrive, they will certainly be welcomed with open arms amongst all "the tea party patriots".

This is really a bad idea. The infrastructure in the valley is not capable of handling lots more people. It will cost EVERYONE lots of money in taxes to entice these dunderheads to come here.

If you really want the attention of the East Coast, let them watch one of those Keystone Cop Commissioner meetings of ours.

This is actually a good idea. People are leaving Doombergs reign of terror as fast as they can get off the island.

If only they would get 300,000 employers, like long term high tech firms, to look at moving to the Grand Valley to provide stable employment not based on energy and politics.
