GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Kids, and kids at heart, came out to the John McConnell Math & Science Center Thursday night for the Wild Kratts Underwater Science Night.

Families visited the center to enjoy several hands-on experiments and activities focused on underwater adventures and animal powers.

The event was cohosted by Rocky Mountain PBS, the creators of the show Wild Kratts.

A one-hour special screening of the animated show was held during the event.

The center has hosted events like these on the first Thursday of every month for the past two years.

They hope that getting children involved with interactive activities will help prepare them for careers in science and technology in the 21st century.

This non-profit organization also provides resources and new ideas for teachers across the Western Slope.

Executive Director of the Math & Science center, Teresa Coons, said the attendance for the event was great, and she hopes to see everyone at next month's event.
