DENVER (AP) - Mark Kelly, the husband of former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, is scheduled to be in Denver on Monday to testify in support of at least one of the seven gun-control bills being considered by the Colorado Legislature.

Eileen McCarron, president of the Colorado Ceasefire Capitol Fund, tells The Denver Post Kelly will speak in support of a House bill that requires all private gun sales and transfers to be subject to a background check. The retired Navy Captain and astronaut has testified before Congress in support of gun control measures.

Giffords, a former Democratic congresswoman from Arizona, was injured at a meet-and-greet when she was shot in the head by Jared Lee Loughner in January 2011.

Six people were killed in the shooting.

Thirteen others were wounded, including Giffords.

These liberals sure love the criminal element, every chance they get, they punish the law abiding citizens.

It's terrible for what happened to his wife and the pain coused to their marriage and loved ones. BUT, nothing these two are supporting would have changed what happened to them.

Please stay out of my state's politics. We have enough problems with the progressive front range and the unwashed in Boulder.

Guess what, duck hunters? Pump shotguns will be banned. Hope your good at cramming shells in while the birds merrily fly away. Oh well, elections have consequences but it was too much work to do basic research into the Marxist-progressives that are ruining the country. That's a shame.
