DENVER - The Colorado Marijuana Task Force has released their report on how they think pot should be grown, sold and taxed within the State.

Officials with the governors office say the task force comprised of seven various entities released its 165 page report, containing details of 58 policy recommendations for regulating marijuana in Colorado.

Some of the highlights include: During the first year of a three year vertical integration model, only medical marijuana license holders can grow, process and sell adult-use cannabis.

In the following two years, there must be common ownership of the supply chain to grow, produce and sell marijuana.

A new marijuana enforcement division would be funded by general fund revenue for the next five years and would provide oversight of all marijuana industries in Colorado.

Another recommendations is to refer a ballot initiative to voters this November for a 15 percent excise tax, with the first $40 million of excise tax proceeds going to the State's school construction fund. Including a marijuana sales tax to cover the costs of regulation the industry.
