Mangoes Sold in Colo. Included in Recall

DENVER- The Colorado Health Department is letting residents know about a recall of mangoes that may be contaminated.

The Food and Drug Administration issued the warning Thursday after Splendid Products of California recalled its Daniella brand mangoes, because the fruits have been linked to a number of recent cases of salmonella in Canada.

Officials say the mangoes may also be linked to cases in California and other states. So far, there have been no reported cases in Colorado.

The products being recalled are individual mangoes that can be identified by the Daniella brand stickers with the following lot numbers: 3114, 4051, 4311, 4584 or 4959.

The FDA says consumers should not eat the fruit and throw it away if they have any.

The mangoes were sold between July 12 and Aug. 29.
