Wow, talk about understating the crime!!! The written blurb above "arrested for hanging his mother's dog...." doesn't even come close to saying what he actually did!! What's the problem; afraid this story may take away from all the trash talking about the current presidental race?

His crime was so horrific that nothing less than the maximum allowable should have been handed down. AND, animal cruelty (and neglect) laws are too weak and need to be changed ( including stiffer penalties). It's long over due but is not, never will be, a priority with law makers. Very, very sad reflection of our society and the human race.

I completely agree with the two comments already, this guy is going to go from harming animals to harming children/women. He should of had a much stricter sentence.

He held the dogs tail as a handle while slamming it against the garage. He stomped on the dog. He kicked the dog. He dragged the dog down the street. I believe he burned the dog as well as stabbed it several times too. SOMEHOW... the dog was still alive when it was hung. So, tell me then... why should this guy be treated any differently? He'll be back on the streets by Christmas of next year (time served already counts toward his 18 month sentence) and if you don't think he'll be a threat to the community when he gets out, THINK AGAIN! Those who torture and/or kill animals for the "thrill" of it, almost always become human tortureres and killers; animal mutilation is kinda' the "gateway drug" that leads to human killing. He can't be "helped" in prison either. He's got a defective brain. He needs to be culled from the herd. Hung from a bridge is a nice reminder to those that might have found his sickness worth voluntarily repeating. Tax dollars wasted... and he'll be back!
