GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Grand Junction authorities say a man will walk away with just a few stitches after being stabbed by a Grand Junction resident with a samurai sword.

The GJPD responded to 2426 Hill Avenue Saturday afternoon after reports of a stabbing.

According to police, there was a domestic violence dispute involving a man and woman living together.

Responding authorities say the woman called her father to help, and when he showed up he was stabbed with a samurai sword in the back of his right leg by the other male.

"There was some yelling and fighting, and the girl was telling somebody to stop, knock it off. Then it was really quiet. All of the sudden there was cops, and a ambulance and a firetruck next store," said Anita Johnson, a neighbor.

The GJPD says after the father was stabbed, he punched the suspect in the nose.

The suspect was arrested Saturday evening. However, due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no additional information has been released.
