LARIMER COUNTY, Colo.- One man is dead after firing a handgun at deputies in Larimer County on Saturday.

Sheriff's officials say a woman called 911 just before midnight Friday night to report that her ex-boyfriend had arrived at her Glacier View home, located just northwest of Fort Collins.

She believed he needed medical attention for an overdose.

Authorities say a deputy shot and killed the man after he fired once at the officers.

The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
