GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The man responsible for sending multiple people to the hospital with stab wounds received his sentence Thursday.

Alejandro Olvera, 25, received a 19-year sentence after pleading guilty to two charges of second-degree assault back in September.

Following his 19-year sentence Olvera will have one year of mandatory parole.

Olvera was involved in a fight that broke out on the Fourth of July.

Olvera, who served in the Army, claimed to have flashbacks of combat when he heard the fireworks.

Olvera sent five people to the hospital with stab wounds and even hit one of the victims in the head with a hammer.
