GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- One man who's had no transportation and has to walk everywhere he goes, will now get to places much quicker.

Richard Mcaleer, 52, is apart of the Catholic Outreach transitional housing program.

Mcaleer has always had to walk to work which takes him up to 40 minutes each way.

With Mcaleer working seven days a week, he was selected to receive a free refurbished bike from Bicycle Outfitters.

Mcaleer says having the bike will make his life much easier. He says he's very appreciative for the bike and all the Catholic Outreach has done for him and his wife.

"They give you the push to keep going and to further yourself, and to help others," said Mcaleer.

The Catholic Outreach transitional housing program helps around 60 people each year get back on their feet by giving them a duplex to live in for a small fee.

Those who are in the program have to have a job and pay 1/3 of their paycheck to the Catholic Outreach

They're allowed to stay in the program for up to 24 months.
