Man in Wheelchair Hit by Car

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A man was sent to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after being hit by a car as he was crossing the street in a wheelchair.

Authorities with the Grand Junction Police Department say around 3:45 p.m. a car was heading westbound on Grand Avenue near 17th Street.

At the same time, a man in a wheelchair was crossing Grand and the car struck him.

He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the crash.

It's unknown whether any charges will be filed.
