GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A man appeared in federal court in Grand Junction Tuesday after reportedly driving from Indiana to Garfield County with the intent of sexually exploiting two female minors.

Steven Raines, 35, faces nine charges, including traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, aggravated sexual assault on children, attempted coercion and enticement, and distributing child pornography.

Prosecutors say Raines had made contact with an undercover homeland security agent and arranged to have sex with her two children.

On Tuesday, a federal judge decided Raines would be sent to Denver where his arraignment hearing will take place.
