CMU Student Accused of Plotting to Kill President Obama Reportedly Trained in Grand Junction

DENVER- New details are emerging about the Colorado Mesa University student who was recently arrested for an alleged plot to kill President Barack Obama.

Twenty-year-old Mitchell Kenneth Kusick of Westminster is being held on suspicion of a federal charge of threats against a president.

Officials say he told his therapist he wanted to shoot children, kill people on Halloween and assassinate the president.

Kusick told federal investigators he had been keeping track of the president's visits to the Denver area because he wanted to go down in history as the "guy who killed Obama."

The federal arrest affidavit reveals Kusick's plot to shoot and kill students at Standley Lake High School in Westminster, and it details his obsession with the Aurora theater shooting.

Kusick reportedly pointed out what he thought James Holmes did wrong and said he learned how to shoot an assault rifle at a firing range in Grand Junction.

Kusick is still listed as a student in CMU's directory.

He told investigators he was taking online classes on a full scholarship.

CMU has confirmed this information and says it's taking action to maintain the safety of students, faculty and staff.

A detention hearing is scheduled for Kusick on Friday.

ok... he is a bit wacko for doing this , but just because he can fire an "assault rifle" does not mean squat.. quit the flamboyant media please. everyone I know can shoot a handgun or rifle!! who cares. just focus on the wacko part please

Poor kid, I feel sorry for him. He has already been tried and convicted in the eyes of the socialist media outlets. I would love to see his lawyers sue them.
