FRUITA, Colo. - Fruita City Officials say it's time for their Civic Center Memorial Park to get a makeover.

Officials are collecting feedback on new potential layouts which aim to help Fruita house the growing attendance of their festivals and bring more attention to the city.

"We're looking at the park in terms of how we can reorient it so it's tied a little bit more to downtown, connected more to downtown, and through this process we're seeing what the community wants, amenity wise, in the park. If we're going to change it let's do it right and do a long term plan," said Ture Nycum the Director of Fruita Parks and Recreation.

The city has allotted $50,000 for some of the improvements for this year.

Officials say they will collect input for the next few months before creating a new concept based on all the feedback received.
