MONTROSE, Colo.- The Colorado Council on High School and College Relations picked Montrose High School to host one of the 70 college fairs they will be holding throughout the state.

Students had the opportunity to speak with representatives from many Colorado schools as well as some from Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming and many other out-of-state universities.

"They're broadening their horizons and they're mixing and mingling with students from all different walks of life and situations, and hopefully it's making them broader in their views," said Barbara Bernhardt, a guidance counselor at Montrose High School.

"I eventually want to go into medicine so I definitely need to go to college and I think this is a great place to talk to representatives and hear what they have to say about the college," said Emily Wolverton, a senior at Montrose High School.

Montrose used to be the host of the only regional fair for the area, but the council has looked into expanding that this year.
