GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Union Pacific Foundation has donated $5,000 to Colorado Discover Ability. The money will be used to help the disabled population in Mesa County participate in therapeutic recreational outdoor activities.

Ushci Hall is a volunteer with the organization, as well as a participant. She is a paraplegic who was injured in a hang gliding accident 18 years ago in Austria. She says she hasn't let that hold her back; she continues doing what she loves to do and attributes much of this to Colorado Discover Ability.

The money will be used toward programs such as the adaptive snow sports program at Powderhorn, rafting, kayaking, camping and hiking for children and adults who live with disabilities. This organization works closely with Hilltop, Mesa Developmental Services, School District 51 and the VA, helping over 400 people each year.

Colorado Discover Ability also gives kids with disabilities the opportunity to attend summer camps.
