Local Organization Gives Back to Community

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A group of women packed their cars full of gifts Friday morning, as if it was just like Santa’s sleigh.

Every year, the Mesa County Republican Women collect funds at their December luncheon so they can provide a Christmas for needy families in the Grand Valley.

They transported their Christmas packages to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center, where they will donate the gifts to two local families.

“Well we try and do things politically for the community and try and get candidates elected,” said Linda Gregory, president of Mesa County Republican Women. “We also think that another part of our purpose is to help out people in the community that are in need.”

The family names were provided to the organization by the Hospice Family and Youth Program.

The Mesa County Republican Women have been collecting these funds, and donating gifts for over four years now.
