GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Pink and blue balloons with each victim's name from the Newtown massacre shooting was released into the night sky Sunday.

The balloons were released near the tree memorial on the corner of First Street and Grand Avenue.

One local mother decided it was her way of expressing she cares, and to show how Grand Junction supports and remembers the victims and their families no matter the distance.

"Releasing them up into the world just to let them know we love them, we're here and there will always be a warm place in our hearts for them, always," said Amanda Pinkerton, organizer and mother of two.

Pinkerton said though her daughter is only four years old, she understands that something bad has happened.
