GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- One lucky family received a new wheelchair accessible van Wednesday.

Mediquip donated the vehicle to a Grand Junction family that was one of 15 to write a letter and get chosen by a board.

Members of the family say it will change their lives in more than one way, and they are ecstatic about it. "It's going to save my wife from picking up wheelchairs and putting them in regular cars. It will also give us more freedom. This has been awesome," said Garrett Walker, winner of the van.

Mediquip is a local company that adjusts vehicles to better fit the needs of those who are disabled.

The company has given away three modified vans so far this year, and plan to give away more.
