Local Shop Celebrates International Coffee Day

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo- Saturday is International coffee day and one local mom and pop coffee house is celebrating it with everyone.

Gelato Junction Cafe in Fruitvale gave away a small cup of joe to anyone who walked in their store Saturday.

Over 400 billion cups of coffee are consumed each year and to celebrate the rich taste, the coffee house and gelateria brew it up fresh to lure in that many more customers. "We've seen well over 100 people. We've gone through three huge air pots of coffee already," said Denise Bucher, owners daughter.

Gelato Junction Cafe also features a local artists to hang their painting on the wall every month.

They say everything in the store is home made or bought locally. The store's located off of Paterson and 29 Roads in the Safeway Plaza.
