GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Community members are preparing for their Elliepalooza this weekend.

Ellie is a local woman recovering from being hit by a drunk driver.

In an effort to raise money for Ellie, folks can stop by the Red Room for live music, food and beverages on Saturday.

Delaney Donates is hosting the event. The organization was named for Delaney Clements, a 9-year-old cancer survivor. Co-founders of the organization say Ellie is a great person to help, now that Delaney is doing much better.

“She just wants to make sure that everyone knows how grateful she is and she gets it on a level of being only 9 years old that you wouldn't expect,” said Barbara Walsh, co-founder of Delaney Donates. “She came to us and asked us, 'Who are we going to help next?' And then we head about Ellie and here we are today. “

Multiple restaurants will be on hand serving up tasty treats, including Rib City Grill, Dolce Vita and Suehiro Japanese Restaurant.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and is free to the public. However, organizers will be accepting donations.
