Local Chapters React to Changes in Boy Scout Leadership Restrictions

by KREX News Room
by Danielle Kreutter

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Next week a national decision will be made by the Boy Scouts of America organization that may remove the previous membership restriction regarding sexual orientation.

In the Grand Valley, letters have been sent out to scouts' parents updating them on the potential changes.

In the letter, the Western Colorado Council says, "The policy change would allow the religious, civic or educational organizations that over see and deliver scouting to determine how to address this issue."

Since the deciding on leaders would then be up to local chapters, officials with the Western Colorado Council say they would like to hear input from the public on the matter as it develops.

It's sad that poisonous agendas have to infect godly, wholesome things. And yes as soon as one troop says we don't want any homosexuals, there will be countless lawsuits and the ACLU will get involved, and that will be the end. Sad day for the Boy Scouts.

Separate but equal, right? 'Cause that worked SOOOO well before...

Why not start a scouting program or whatever geared to homosexuals?

And actually, from what I've read the ACLU has had nothing to do with it. The Boy Scouts is simply mulling over ending some of the discrimination they have been actively participating in for decades. Terrible when someone stops discriminating against someone you think should be discriminated against, huh?

Bill: You have just as much right not to participate as anyone else. Sucks when the shoe is on the other foot, though, don't it?

The homosexual agenda is very powerful. It's really sad they are after the Boy Scouts. And before it's said and done you can bet the ACLU gets involved.

Why does such a small minority have so much power? Don't be ashamed to say you believe in God and don't support a small minority's sick addenda. If it is their preference, keep it to themselves, don't force it on others.

Wow what a sad day for the Boy Scouts. The militant homosexual agenda is not targeting the Boy Scouts. Truly sad.
