GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Next week a national decision will be made by the Boy Scouts of America organization that may remove the previous membership restriction regarding sexual orientation.

In the Grand Valley, letters have been sent out to scouts' parents updating them on the potential changes.

In the letter, the Western Colorado Council says, "The policy change would allow the religious, civic or educational organizations that over see and deliver scouting to determine how to address this issue."

Since the deciding on leaders would then be up to local chapters, officials with the Western Colorado Council say they would like to hear input from the public on the matter as it develops.
