GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Ed Bozarth and Mark Miller Chevrolet, Buick in Grand Junction donated $1, 5000 to the Western Slope Center for Children on Saturday.
The local car dealership used what they know to raise money for this charity by holding their third annual car show.
Nearly 90 cars filled their lawn on Saturday in support of the event.
In previous years, the dealership has donated the proceeds from this event to Mesa County Partners and The House, which is a homeless shelter for local teens.
Keeping up with tradition of giving back to children, they decided to go with the Western Slope Center for Children this year.
“We asked our Facebook fans and they suggested Western Slope Center for Children,” said Josie Rosa, event coordinator. “We did a little research and we love the organization and what they do is so fantastic.”
These funds will help the Western Slope Center for Children continue to provide services to child victims of sexual abuse and their families.
“It’s great even to be here for education and for outreach,” said Shari Zen of the Western Slope Center for Children. “We have kids who are stopping by taking some of our safety tests.”
Officials with the car dealership say this event was much larger than last year's and they are hoping to grow more and more every year.
