GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Saturday the Grand Junction Lion's Club hosted their 84th annual Lion's Club Raffle, Carnival and Parade, raising money for nonprofit organizations. The theme of this year's event was "Under the Big Top."

Officials say this is the largest Lion's Club carnival in the world and will likely raise over $200,000. Nine nonprofit projects will benefit from the donations.

Denis Richardson, president of the Grand Junction Lion's Club, said, "No one else holds a carnival quite like we do. We've been doing it for 84 years, lots of practice has come with this event. Our forefathers before myself, have come before us and laid a foundation that's amazing."

Officials say money raised from the carnival and raffle stays in Mesa County.

For more than 80 years the Grand Junction Lion's Club has donated over $4 million dollars to more than 200 nonprofits around the community.
