Lawmakers in State House Approve Ammunition Limit

by KREX News Room
by Meaghan Wallace

DENVER - Lawmakers in the Colorado House have approved new ammunition limits, the first of four gun control measures up for a vote Monday.

They are considering expanded background checks in a debate that has drawn attention from the White House.

The house has voted to ban large-capacity magazines, placing a limit of 15 rounds for firearms, and eight for shotguns.

Republicans oppose the measures, saying they restrict Second Amendment rights and won't prevent mass shootings.

Other proposals expected to get a vote include banning concealed firearms on college campuses and requiring that gun purchasers pay for their own background checks.

The Senate still needs to consider the proposals.

I can totally see how this would have stopped the Aurora shooter and Columbine. Oh wait the Aurora shooter bought his gear online, and the kids from columbine had someone else buy for them because they couldn't pass a check already. Wait maybe it would have stopped those illegals from murdering people in Denver, oh wait they stole there guns and were already illegally here and almost none of them even use rifles. So what do these laws do again???? Besides helping wrights biased view of women nothing!

So now in order to stop not one single murder, they will make thousands criminals? I mean really what is the penalty for having a 30 rounder not grand fathered in? Is it more than a murder charge? Than it will stop nothing help no one. Is the police exempt from this ban? Than again when you have Jared wright saying he does not trust women to have guns to protect them selves from rapists. Even when Colorado citizens have a FBI proven criminal identification rate (1% miss identified compared to 11% of police shootings)better than the police it makes you wonder if he doesn't trust women than why does he trust the police? By the way grand junction I will be giving away free 30 round mags just to spite this law! Glad I picked up that box out of the trash from the army.

Wow Floyd, You are the only person to ever hold a job.

Jeff, I learned in my fiftys when clinton was prez, that the democrat agenda was not American friendly, I quit being a democrat. Looks like you are 72 and still haven't figured it out. Here's something else for you to figure out, the dems place people on SS in the same boat with those on welfare. I worked for over 50 yrs. for my SS, I don't classify those on welfare all their lives as being in the same boat I am. Johnson sold us out when he created the "Great Society", I was in Viet Nam then. It took clintons gun grabbing asaults to make me see the light, you're 72? You sure haven't learned much from life have you?

Jeff said on Tuesday, Feb 19 at 5:58 AM

Huh, I had no idea I was on welfare, kind of like Floyd didn't realize he's late again on paying his rent to his mommy for living in the closet down in her basement. C'mon Floyd 72, and still living at home w/ mommy! She has got to be so proud.

The only thing that will wake Jeff up, is when they shut off his wellfare check. Once the dems get the control they want, they won't need people like Jeff anymore.

So if a criminal wants to shoot a bunch of people they'll have to use 2-15 round mags instead of 1-30 round mag. You think that factor will stop them??? Think again. So does the Govt start taking cars away from the public because people die everyday from DUI drivers? That taking cars away will save lives? Again, its the person, not the equipment.....its the shooter, not the gun.

Yep Jeff...with the exception of a few crazys it is polite. Look how well gun control works for Chicago and DC, the 2 most dangerous citys in America. I bet you think Obamacare is a good idea too?!?!?!?

Jeff said on Monday, Feb 18 at 4:29 PM

You mean like the polite armed society we have now? smh

arffdog875 said on Monday, Feb 18 at 4:16 PM

To Jeff and all the other libtards that think this will fix the problem of crazy people going on shooting sprees...sorry! You might as well think the suggestion from Homeland security of "carry a pair of scissors" to stop an active shooter is a good idea! An armed society is a polite society!
