Law Enforcement Collects Nearly 200 Pounds of Prescriptions

by KREX News Room
by Daniel Phillips

MESA COUNTY, Colo.- Residents of the Grand Valley were able to turn in their leftover prescription drugs this weekend.

Law enforcement agencies collected the drugs, and at the end of the day had received 196 pounds.

Mesa County sheriff's officials collected the most, totaling just over 100 pounds of drugs.

The drug take-back occurs several times a year, and officials say it is a great way to get rid of leftover medication in a safe manner.
