GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A late night stabbing left one man hospitalized and another behind bars. Just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, Grand Junction Police responded to the 1000 block of Pitkin Avenue.
Clinton Chism, 35, is behind bars facing charges of attempted second-degree murder, criminal attempt and tampering with physical evidence.
Police reports reveal Chism's wife came to his house to pick up some belongings. She claims she found him asleep on the couch holding two knives. The two are reportedly separated.
She told police that after Chism woke up she explained to him that a friend of hers, Eugene Geisler, was waiting in a car outside.
Authorities say they believe Chism ran outside and stabbed his wife's companion several times.
Geisler was rushed to the hospital and officials with St. Mary's Hospital say he is now in fair condition.
