Last Minute Shoppers Unite During Busiest Time of Year

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The holidays are just days away, and many people have one thing in common.

"Just out and about like everyone else, just hurrying and scurrying around," said Ted Thibault.

Black Friday is known for being the busiest shopping day of the year, but officials say the Saturday before Christmas is a big competitor, and may take the lead.

Officials say the worst is over for hard economic times, and the Grand Valley is making a come back.

"I think we're going a lot more places, a lot more shopping and everything," said Glenda Williams, resident.

Last minute shoppers say the crowds weren't as bad as they thought they'd be.

"I'm a guy, usually us guys like to wait until the last minute and that's pretty typical. I found honestly that you do get a lot of the good deals really last minute like that," said Thibault.

Shoppers say the biggest problem was finding a parking spot.

Finding a parking spot was probably the hardest. Once you get that accomplished it's really not too bad," said Ted Thibault.
