GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A fire that broke out in a landfill Saturday night is now fully contained.

The Grand Junction Fire Department and the Lands End Fire Department responded to the fire, which they say was caused by lightning.

The fire started around 8 p.m. in the landfill located just off 31 and Coffman roads, near Highway 50.

Officials estimate the flames grew to about the size of half a football field.
