GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -Tom Kenyon is rerunning for his District A seat in April's upcoming election.
Kenyon was Grand Junction's mayor last year and has served on the council for four years.
He says he's proud of the strides the city has made in recent years, including the new public safety facility, the 29 Road bridge project and beautification of city parks.
However, he says the city has not rebounded yet. Kenyon aims to continue working on that.
"Our economy still has not improved. We still need jobs desperately. I want to do everything I can to help the city make good decisions in the budget, which will [bring in] more jobs and get economic activity going again," Kenyon explained.
He's looking forward to seeing through the city's comprehensive plan, which, Kenyon says, will bring more economic activity and jobs to the area.
A Grand Junction resident earlier in his life and in the past decade, Kenyon owns his own realty business with his wife.
He is being opposed by former city market president Phyllis Norris for the District A seat.
