Judge Keeps Gag Order in Aurora Shooting Case

DENVER (AP)- The judge overseeing the Aurora theater shooting case has refused to lift a gag order, that prevents the University of Colorado from releasing information about the suspect.

Arapahoe County District Judge William Sylvester also ruled that he would release some court documents in the case of James Holmes, as well as some court documents filed by attorneys.

Some key documents, including the arrest affidavit, will remain sealed.

Judge Sylvester says releasing that information would harm the fairness at trial, and would be contrary to public interest.

Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and wounding 58 others on July 20.
