GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The man who shot someone in a Grand Junction hotel room in June was sentenced Tuesday.
Joseph Lara, 26, was facing several charges including attempted first degree murder and assault.
A judge sentenced him to 22 years in the Department of Corrections for an assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
Lara will be credited more than 250 days that he was already served and he will have to pay $810.44 in fines to victims and the courts.
Lara shot a man in the abdomen at the Affordable Inns on Horizon Drive in Grand Junction.
