GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo.- An agreement between two companies would bring up to 4,000 new wells over the next 20 years to Rio Blanco and Garfield counties.

According to the Denver Post, steelmaker Nucor Corporation has agreed to help finance Encana Oil and Gas's development of a 50,000-acre oil and gas lease on federal land called the "Big Jimmy."

The agreement would more than double Encana's current well count, which stands at about 3,000.
