Joint Venture Allows Encana to Develop 4,000 New Gas Wells

DENVER- A new agreement is enabling Encana Corporation to develop 4,000 new gas wells on the Western Slope.

According to the Denver Post, in a joint venture between Encana and steel company Nucor Corporation, Encana will develop a 50,000-acre oil and gas lease in Rio Blanco and Garfield counties.

The agreement will allow Encana to drill up to 4,000 new wells over the next 20 years, doubling the company's well count in Colorado.
