GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Environmental Protection Agency has announced January as Radon Action Month, hoping to increase awareness about this national health problem.

Radon is a naturally occurring invisible, odorless radioactive gas that is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers.

Experts say one in 15 American homes contains high level of radon.

They encourage folks to test their home for radon and fix any issues if necessary to avoid any health hazards.
