AURORA, Colo.- The man charged with the Colorado movie theater shooting was back in court Monday, and this time the focus was around a mysterious package the suspect sent to his college campus before the shootings.

CU Police Chief Douglas Abraham testified about the unopened package Holmes sent to the campus mail room.

Defense attorneys were trying to find out who told a news station that the package contained a notebook with writing detailing violent plans.

Chief Abraham says that attorneys for James Holmes called the University of Colorado four days after the attack and asked the school return a package that he had sent to his psychiatrist.

Abraham and two other law enforcement officials testified that they did not discuss the notebook to the media.

Holmes was silent during the hearing. He is charged with killing 12 people and injuring 58 others in July.
