ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo.- It's been nearly eight months since the deadly mass shooting at an Aurora movie theater, and now, the suspect has entered his plea.

Tuesday morning, on behalf of James Holmes, the judge entered a plea of not guilty.

Holmes' lawyer said he was not ready to enter a plea.

Holmes still has option to change his plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.

The district attorney will make a decision on April 1 as to whether they will move forward with seeking the death penalty.

Holmes has been charged with 166 counts from the July 20 attack that killed 12 people and wounded 58 others.
