Items on Glenwood Springs April Mail-Ballot Election

by KREX News Room

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.- The official list for candidates running for Glenwood Springs City Council is in.

According to the Post Independent, the at-large race between incumbent Stephen Bershenyi and challenger Lyle Beattie, will be the only one that appears on the mail ballot.

Bershenyi is a Glenwood Springs native, while Beattie is a longtime retired businessman who previously served on the city council in the 1960's.

Incumbents Matt Steckler in Ward 2 and Leo McKinney in Ward 5 are running uncontested for their seats and will most likely not have their names on the ballot.

Also on the April 2 ballot will be a question seeking authorization from voters to sell a city-owned piece of property in the 700 block of Colorado Avenue.

The last day for qualified city residents to register to vote in the April 2 mail-ballot election is March 4.

The first day for mail ballots to be sent to registered voters is March 11.
