Authorities Continue to Investigate Plane Crash

GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo.- The National Transportation Safety Board is releasing photos of a Western Slope plane crash that happened during the weekend of June 29.

The NTSB has cleared the scene of the crash in Garfield County, but an investigation is ongoing.

Just before 2 p.m. Saturday, authorities were notified of a possible distressed aircraft above the No Name trailhead, near the west entrance to Glenwood Canyon.

Searchers were able to locate the downed Cessna 172 Skyhawk on the Jess Weaver Trail, along with the pilot, who survived the crash.

The pilot was taken to an area medical center for treatment.
